Iraqi cuisine

workshops and open meeting

September 23, 2022 (Friday)

The programme entitled “There’s always a place for you at our table” presented the cooking culture of contemporary settlers, immigrants who have come to Poland in the 21st century. The presentation was done through workshops, dialogue, narrative. The workshops were attended both by the people from Tri-City and by tourists.

We invited everyone who wanted to learn how to cook originally foreign, sometimes exotic dishes, but also, or perhaps mostly, those interested in the newcomers, who found it interesting to discuss cuisines, home, longing, the way they absorb Poland into their lives and their food.

Videos were produced during the cycle to document the events, as well as reportage photography projects published on the Facebook page of the Ethnography Department of the Gdańsk National Museum and on the Gdańsk National Museum’s website.
