TISSUE PAPER FLOWERS

12/06/2022

The multicultural eco-workshops for both adults and children took place as part of the ‘Kashubia Day’ in the garden of the Ethnography Department of the National Museum in Gdansk. The workshop was open, with no registration, all you had to do was come between 11:00a.m. and 04:00p.m. to the Summer Ethnographic Fair.

During the workshop, beautiful tissue paper flowers were created! Just like the ones that used to decorate traditional interiors. The tissue paper flowers (not plastic!) enriched family workshops and annual festivals, were used to make garlands, Easter palms and harvest garlands, and today they wonderfully decorate any space. The workshop was conducted by folk artist Regina Białk, who continues the decorative traditions of handicrafts.

The participants were able to take home the results of their work – colourful tissue paper flowers.Workshop leader: Regina Białk – folk artist.
