in a cooperation with the Nordic Focus Festival

27.11.2022

‘Letters from Greenland’ by Adam Jarniewski is a mini-reportage in which the teenage daughter of a Pole and a Greenlander – Alina – shows a personal view of the world’s largest island. The heroine talks about the Arctic flora and fauna and her respect for the power of nature. The book includes descriptions of fishing or encounters with musk oxen and reindeer. There is also a trip to the Greenlandic continental glacier and parts about the cultural differences and beliefs of the modern Greenlanders.

During the workshop, the author talked about how the environment is cared for in Greenland, why this is so important and the challenges facing the modern Arctic society.
